  • ATA Launches Pediatric and Digital Health Research SIGs!

    We are excited to announce the formation of two new Special Interest Groups (SIGs) designed to enhance collaboration and drive innovation within the ATA community:

    Pediatric Telehealth SIG: This group is focused on expanding equitable access to telehealth services for infants, children, and adolescents. It will tackle pediatric healthcare's technical, legislative, and care delivery challenges. Thank you to our SIG leaders @Heather Meyers, MBA and @Stephanie Reed!

    Digital Health Research SIG: This group brings together researchers from across disciplines and is dedicated to advancing telehealth through rigorous research and evidence-based practices, with a focus on improving healthcare outcomes and policy. Thank you to our SIG leaders @Judd Hollander, MD and @David McSwain, MD, MPH,(He/Him)!

    Both SIGs are listed under ATA Groups and are open to all ATA members.

  • ATA Awarded Grant to Enhance Telehealth Tools Addressing Infrastructure Gaps

    The American Telemedicine Association (ATA) proudly announces its receipt of a grant from the Peterson Health Technology Institute (PHTI). This grant will be used to enhance the ATAโ€™s U.S. Digital Infrastructure Disparities Score and heat map tools. These resources will now incorporate additional data sets and improved visualization features to better identify infrastructure gaps and support equitable access to telehealth services across the country.

    By enhancing these tools, the ATA continues its commitment to improving digital healthcare infrastructure and addressing healthcare disparities.

  • WE STRONGLY SUPPORT BIPARTISAN TELEHEALTH MODERNIZATION ACT OF 2024

    WASHINGTON, DC, SEPTEMBER 18, 2024 โ€“ ATA Action, the American Telemedicine Associationโ€™s affiliated trade association focused on advocacy, today submitted a Statement for the Record to the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee, applauding their continued support of telehealth and for holding a full committee markup on important legislation that would extend many of the Medicare telehealth flexibilities, ensuring access to lifesaving and effective care well after December 31, 2024. This important vote took place during the ATAโ€™s 4th annual Telehealth Awareness Week.

  • ATA Action Launched a Bipartisan Political Action Committee

    ATA Action has launched a bipartisan Political Action Committee (PAC) to advocate for policies that remove barriers to virtual care. With critical telehealth flexibilities expiring at the end of 2024, this PAC comes at a crucial time.

    "There has never been a more important time in our history for a political action committee that represents the needs of clinicians and everyday Americans, especially those in underserved communities with limited access to healthcare services," said Kyle Zebley, SVP, Public Policy, the ATA and Executive Director, ATA Action.

  • OVER 330 ORGANIZATIONS CO-SIGNED LETTERS URGING TWO-YEAR EXTENSION OF VIRTUAL PRESCRIBING

    ATA Members,

    More than 330 organizations have co-signed letters to Congress and the White House urging a two-year extension of virtual prescribing flexibilities for controlled substances. Without immediate action, these critical telehealth measures will expire at the end of the year, leaving countless patients without access to lifesaving care. Read More ยป

  • THE ATA AND ATA ACTION SUBMIT DETAILED COMMENTS ON CY2025 PHYSICIAN FEE SCHEDULE

    The American Telemedicine Association (ATA) and ATA Action today submitted detailed comments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in response to the calendar year (CY) 2025 Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule. The ATA and ATA Action also urged CMS to advocate for Congress to swiftly extend or make permanent the Medicare telehealth flexibilities as soon as possible, before the December 31 deadline.

    CMSโ€™ proposal in the Calendar Year (CY) 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) Proposed Rule to extend the flexibility allowing appropriately licensed and credentialed providers to report their currently enrolled practice location instead of their home address when providing telehealth services from their home marks a significant win on the road to the Telehealth Super Bowl.

    The ATA is proud to be part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Societyโ€™s nearly $6.5 million research project investigating the causes of inequitable access to blood cancer treatment and care. We serve as a key stakeholder and our own @Lois Ritter serves on the Advisory Committee.
